Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I want every child I come in contact with to feel no matter who or what is against them, they have a chance to become someone, and there is someone in their corner who believes in them no matter the struggle, that someone is me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when I spoke to a teacher who gave up on her student and the parent didn't know what else to do. I talked with that student, formed a bond with that student and parent. I began to watch learning take place in ways with her no one could imagine. Our entire 1st grade team was excited, her parent was excited, the student was excited because she felt like school was beginning to make sense to her. She wasn't feeling lost in her learning.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have a senior who attends Jones College Prep High-school. Who also got accepted to Clark-Atlanta for college. $25,000 would help with prom, graduation and her bank account for college.
