I have always loved children but that’s only part of my why. My teachers from preschool through college were extremely impactful. I fell in love when their passion for teaching and caring for their students and I hope to show my students that same love!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moment was my very first year. I got a new student shortly after the year started. She had just been placed with new foster parents along with her 2 younger siblings. She was absolutely precious and I felt so bad about the situation she had been forced to handle as a 3rd grader. While cleaning out desks one day, I discovered a note she had written, “Mrs. Smith, You are the best teacher I’ve had and I’ve been to about 11 different schools.” I knew I was where I was meant to be!
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d love to give back to my school community as well as invest in my own personal children’s education.
