I became a teacher because I like helping other people learn things and connecting with people that are different than me. There’s no better feeling than being an important part of someone’s life and giving them skills and confidence to feel fulfilled as human beings.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was over the course my first 4 consecutive years in one school. I started with a student in second grade who couldn’t read cvc words and by fifth grade I got her to a fifth grade reading level. It’s all about trusting yourself, the process, and instilling a growth mindset in kids who feel like “they can’t learn.”
