Connect Tell us why you became a teacher

I chose to become a teacher because I have always had a love of learning. I wanted to extend that love of learning to the future generations; our future leaders. I wanted to make learning fun and interesting for my students. I wanted to have a hand in preparing our future to lead us and make our world a better place.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

While I thrive in the "Ah Ha!" moments, the most memorable teaching experience I have ever had comes from the relationship building I do with my students. I had a student once who had severe behavioral issues and would give everyone else trouble. I made sure to tell that student how special he was and how much potential he had... even on his bad days. I watched that young man go from F's and office referrals to B's and actually enjoying my class. At the end of that year, that child thanked.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Honestly, I would really like to travel. I am starting a new club in my school called the Adventure Club where my students research our destination throughout the school year and over the summer we travel to the location and explore. I would like to put some of the money toward that.
