I love teaching because I am a curious person and love to learn. I bring that same excitement to my classroom and to working with my kids.

I became a teacher because I always knew I wanted to work with children. After I lost my job working as an administrative assistant, I took the opportunity to go back to school and get my teaching degree.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many. I love how previous students still keep in touch and tell me how their lives are going. They ask me questions and I sometimes get the chance to still mentor them. I am now working with the students who need lots of support and this just fills my heart. There is also the year I had the honor to work with a student who had never been to school before and came to us from a war-torn country. It is difficult to come up with just one.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would pay all my bills and put the rest in the bank. I moved to my current city after a divorce and now provide a home for my adult daughter and myself. It is not easy and I constantly stress about finances. I go into work and all that gets pushed aside. My students keep me busy, whether it is laughing, focusing on academic tasks, or annoying me to no end. All through it, I love them and I am proud to be their teacher.
