Michelle Warwick

I love teaching because I love working with the kids. They are so amazing and they can do anything, they just need someone cheering for them

Tell us why you became a teacher

Once I had my own kids I wanted to be apart of everything they were doing. So, I started volunteering at their school and spending time in the classroom. That's when I fell in love with the kids. They are all amazing in their own unique way and I have learned so much from them.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is when I was study hall supervisor. The classroom teachers would send disruptive students to my classroom with their work. There was one student who started acting up because he wanted to come to study hall. I was able to talk to this student and made a deal that instead of coming to study hall for being disruptive, he would make good choices and participate in class. Then he would earn a break in study hall. His behavior changed and his grades went up.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won, I would use the money as a down payment for a house. My family of 6 needs a house that allows for us to all have our own space.
