Tell us why you became a teacher

I needed a career change and I wanted to positively impact my community. I discovered I love sharing my knowledge and nurturing a love of learning and I fell in love with teaching. I learn something new from each class and I hope they do too

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

We had class pets last year! Five earthworms that my class absolutely fell in love with! They fed them, collected their droppings for the school garden, kept their enclosure moist and would hold them. Worms have never been my favorite, but making them part of our classroom family was absolutely fantastic and a new way to experience a pet

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to provide a more interactive classroom environment, specifically alternative seating to accommodate for my more active students. I am also the assistant den leader for the wolf scouts of our local pack and would love to use the funds to take my scouts on more adventures
