I became a teacher to inspire students like my teachers inspired me. As I teacher I get to help students learn and grow not only academically but personally and emotionally. I enjoy witnessing students learn to advocate and use their voices successfully.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

While working with students who were new to the school from the DR, I learned more from them than I could have ever taught them. We worked together in a small group every day, where they taught me Spanish and I taught the curriculum. I don't know who learned more during those lessons, them or me. I do know what we truly taught each other was resilience.
