Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because, as a child, I often felt unseen. I was shy and quiet, and struggled to learn from lectures. When I became a teacher, I promised myself that I would be different. I would teach creatively, use visuals and hands-on learning, and make sure every student feels seen and heard. In my STEM class, students are excited to learn, explore, and be creative every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was introducing my students to robots for the first time. When they used robots like the robot mouse, Bee-Bot, Sphero, and Dash, their excitement was through the roof. The joy, determination, and excitement on their faces as they figured them out was unforgettable. Every class reacted the same way, and it motivated me to keep finding new, awesome technology to inspire their learning.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won the $25,000, I would use it to enhance my STEM classroom. I would buy new robots, engineering and building materials, and expand to 3D printing. This money would help make my class more engaging, hands-on, and fun, giving students more opportunities to learn, create, and be inspired.
