I became a teacher because I had an amazing experience in high school during my Exploring Childhood course for anyone interested in a career in Education. I was assigned to an elementary teacher, Ann Jorgenson, in first grade. She was amazing and inspired me every day! I witnessed her love for teaching, and her love and excitement watching the students discover and learn new things - and I knew this was the career for me! Many years later I was honored to receive a job offer at this same school!

It is difficult to choose one memorable experience. I think every day is memorable! I get to witness students learn and grow everyday, and I am honored to be a part of their education! My job doesn’t feel like a job because I love what I do! I love the differences I make in the lives of little ones, not only academically, but also in their hearts letting them know they are cared for and loved! I inspire them to be themselves and encourage them to continue to make a difference in our world! ❤️

I’ve been a teacher for 31 special years! I’d love to take my family of 12 (children, their spouses, and grandbabies) on our first family vacation. I’d invest in my four grandchildren’s college savings accounts, and also put some aside for grandbabies yet to come. I’d like to make donations to individuals & groups in my community. I’d put some in an account that would grow interest & use it to buy supplies for my classroom each year. If there’s some left, I’d put it in my retirement account.
