I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to help students believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.

I became a teacher to inspire and motivate young people. I truly believe that kids are our future, and helping them grow in knowledge, confidence, and character is a privilege. Every day I have the opportunity to encourage students to believe in themselves and pursue the dreams God has placed in their hearts.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most joyful moments as a teacher came from a conversation I had with a student in 8th grade. He was frustrated about how African Americans were treated by police. We talked honestly, and I encouraged him that if he wanted to see change, he could become part of the solution. Years later he earned a criminal justice degree and is now a detective with SAPD, hoping to lead and improve the culture. Seeing a student pursue change instead of anger was incredibly rewarding.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000, I would first pay off part of my student loan debt and set aside some money for savings. I would also love to use some of it to create fun experiences for my students, like hosting movie nights, so we could build community and celebrate their hard work together.
