Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a difference in the world of education. I wanted to work with struggling kids and help develop strategies and activities that would support them with academically, socially and behaviorally. My passion was to work in the special education field and create more opportunities for our vulnerable learners.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when I started in my K-2 Autistic Support Classroom and realized that this was where I was meant to be in my career. I knew after just a few days that my teaching journey was on the exact path it was supposed to be.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000 I would utilize that money to improve my teaching abilities. I would purchase more technology for my classroom as well as sensory items that would support and implement meaningful learning for my students. It would give me the opportunity to help support our Special Education program with funds to integrate new learning opportunities.
