I became a teacher to give students the best year of learning they will ever have. I believe that all students have the right to learn, and finding the way that each student learns best is both challenging and rewarding. Making learning fun is a daily goal so my students want to come to school each day. I love the relationships I form with my students and find joy in seeing my students succeed. I happily became a teacher, hoping to make a difference in the life of each child who crosses my path.

My most memorable teaching experience is actually all of the relationships that I have established with students and their parents throughout my years of teaching. It is a joy and an honor to be invited to birthday parties, graduations, and even to homes of former students. It warms my heart to continue receiving hugs, cards, gifts, notes, and visits from students, confirming the relationships that started in our classroom and solidifying the fact that they will always hold a piece of my heart.

If I were chosen for this honor, I would love to take a European cruise, enjoying some time in places that I have only seen in pictures or taught about. I would also put money toward our home mortgage and save what is left for a splurge that might improve organization or atmosphere in my classroom.
