I became a teacher because I believe education has the power to change the trajectory of a person’s life. I wanted to be someone who not only shares knowledge, but also builds confidence, curiosity, and resilience in others. Seeing students grow—academically and personally—is what gives my work purpose and meaning every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhen a struggling middle schooler facing challenges at school and at home quietly thanked me for not giving up on him, I was reminded that sometimes the most powerful thing a teacher can offer is unwavering belief in a child who has forgotten how to believe in themselves.
What would you do with the $25,000?A dream vacation that would be about more than travel—it would be about perspective. Standing in Greece with my husband, our children, and their grandma, looking out at Italy across the water, reminding ourselves how beautifully connected the world is and how powerful it is for children to see history, geography, and culture come alive right before their eyes.
