Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher mainly because of how much I have always loved children. I had a few memorable teachers as a student early on in my education, however they were not all for positive reasons. I did have one favorite teacher as a fifth grader who was wise beyond her years and ability grouped us in order to differentiate not only what we were learning, but the ways we were to prove our learning. As a gifted student that made all the difference for me. I vowed to do that for my students one day!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience would have to be the moment that a struggling English Language learner was able to do something all on her own for the first time. She yelled out "I did it!" We as a class celebrated. I was so proud!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would probably put most of it toward my house. But I do have a few trips on my bucket list!
