Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’ve always known I wanted to work with kids. My mom is a teacher, so I grew up seeing the impact one caring adult can make. I love building relationships, creating moments that make students excited to come to school, and being someone they can count on. Even if I don’t always see the results right away, I know the seeds we plant matter.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was a black light review day I hyped up all week. Not a single student was absent! Even students who don’t usually participate were fully engaged. The room was glowing, the energy was high, and there were genuine smiles and laughter. It reminded me that when learning feels exciting, students show up and shine.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would invest in myself, both personally and professionally. I’d pursue professional development opportunities, travel, and experiences that refill my cup and expand my perspective. Teaching requires so much heart and energy, and I truly believe that when teachers feel inspired and supported, that impact naturally flows back into the classroom.
