Tell us why you became a teacher

I started teaching because agricultural education and FFA changed my life, and I wanted to give students that same opportunity to grow in confidence, skills, and leadership.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences started with a student who came into my class their 9th grade year quiet and shy. They didn’t say much and lacked confidence. Through hands-on projects and FFA, I kept encouraging them. Now they’re a junior speaking in front of crowds, showing up in videos, and even applied to be FFA president. That kind of growth is why I teach.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Honestly, I’d use part of the $25,000 to pay off a credit card and take a little stress off my plate. Then I’d add to our FFA official dress closet to include more sizes so every student feels confident and included. I would use the rest to start a scholarship for students pursuing careers in the trades.
