I never had a guiding force to help me through school. Nobody cared. I want to show students that they are deeply cared for and can do anything they put their mind to.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceA recent immigrant from another country had been working hard, but still struggling academically. She has high expectations for herself, but her family was holding her back and wanted her to follow a different path. I spent time listening to her and reassuring her successes. One day, she looked up at me and said I wish you were my mom.
What would you do with the $25,000?I have 4 children and would love to take them on an amazing vacation, but realistically, I would pay off my student loans. I became a teacher later in life, so I needed to get my Masters. Best decision ever, but it has left my family in significant debt.
