Tell us why you became a teacher

Growing up, my mom was a Kindergarten teacher, and she would always come home with fun projects her class was working on, or art projects they had done. She absolutely loved her job, and her love for it, inspired me to become a teacher. It was wonderful to be able to talk to her about the job.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I taught science to K/1st grade, and the kindergartners were learning about habitats. I created different centers where the kids could explore different aspects of the ocean. One of the centers was exploring real octopuses- the students thought it was absolutely amazing!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have been wanting to buy some science equipment for my classroom and school so the students can explore and foster a love for science! I would love to get some microscopes, and other observational tools. I also love to bring in things to the classroom from my families adventures, so I would love to use some of the money to buy a travel trailer to help us go on more adventures!
