Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love working with little minds. Helping little people do big things is my passion. I love seeing them try to figure out how the world works. Observing them use the information I provided to accomplish something huge is the greatest gift!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when I was working closely with a four year old. He had dyslexia and couldn’t get his letters down. I worked with him every day and did so much research on how to help him. He needed to know and be able to identify his letters to go to the kindergarten his parents wanted. Finally, after weeks of practice he did it! He was so proud of himself and I was to! Watching him finally get that was amazing and the look on his face at the end was well worth it!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000 I would completely transform my classroom. We need our room painted desperately and could really use some new furniture! I would use my winnings to get paint and a painter then buy a new toy kitchen. With the rest I would replace some of our old and broken toys and buy some new ones to go along with what we’re learning. I would also buy a new sensory table and rocking chair. Lastly, I would completely transform our outdoor area with plant life and exploration opportunities!
