Teaching has given me the opportunity to foster student’s growth and individuality. I love teaching, but I love learning from students more.

I became a teacher to foster the learning of our youth of America. Each child is deserving of someone who supports them and is rooting for their success in life. I became a teacher to be that person for as many students as I can.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my students came to me in the morning with a safety plan from a her psychiatrist. She wanted me to have it because she listed me as one of her safe people in the school building. I was touched by this because that is exactly the reason why I became a teacher in the first place. I want to be that safe space for all of my students — for them to know that they are loved, they are worthy, and that they deserve to reach the fullest potential.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000 I would not only pay off my student loan, but I would also use the money to further my career and education. I would love to get my masters in either special education or in curriculum instruction.
