Learn MoreI became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I wanted to create a classroom where students feel seen, capable, and inspired to think critically. As a middle school science teacher, I love turning curiosity into experiments and mistakes into learning opportunities. Helping students build confidence and realize they are smarter than they think is why I do this every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience was watching a student who struggled academically lead their lab group during a hands-on science investigation. They explained the concept confidently and helped others understand it. Seeing that shift, from self-doubt to leadership, reminded me that teaching isn’t just about content. It’s about helping students discover their voice, their strengths, and their potential.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would invest in hands-on science resources and technology that make learning interactive and accessible for all students. Flexible seating, lab materials, and real-world STEM tools would help students learn by doing, not just listening. I would also create opportunities for enrichment experiences that expose students to future careers in science and inspire them to dream bigger.
