I love teaching for those ah-ha moments. The times you see it all click and your student succeeds. The moments you make a difference.

Learn MoreI remember wanting to be a teacher at a very early age. I remember as I got older thinking of the teachers who made it difficult. The ones who probably should have left education. I wanted to be the opposite for my students. I wanted them to feel safe and loved in my classroom. So I got my degree and started working in education. The road was not a straight road. There were many bumps and turns. Through it all I continued on my path.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSome of my most memorable moments are from when I worked at a private school for children with Autism. Many of their accomplishments may have seemed small but they made a huge impact on their ability to be independent.
What would you do with the $25,000?Right now, I drive a car with no air conditioning in South Florida. I would probably use the money to fix the AC or to help get a car with AC.
