Ibecame a special education teacher because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel valued in the classroom. Many students with disabilities face challenges that can make school frustrating or discouraging, and I wanted to be someone who helps remove those barriers.Special education allows me to build strong relationships with students and understand their unique strengths and needs. I enjoy finding creative ways to adapt lessons, use different teaching strategies
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was helping a student who struggled with reading finally recognize words independently. The moment they read a sentence on their own, their face lit up with pride. Seeing their confidence grow reminded me why teaching is so meaningful and reinforced my commitment to supporting every student’s success.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d use part of the $25,000 to pay down my student loans, reducing interest and financial stress. I’d also invest in advancing my degree to increase future earning potential. The rest I’d place in low-cost index funds and keep some in a high-yield savings account as an emergency fund.
