Tell us why you became a teacher

I always say, “I didn’t choose this field, this field chose me”. It stated with a remarkable little boy who forever changed my heart. Through him, I learned patience, unconditional belief, and celebrating small victories. In that moment I knew I was meant to teach. Every day since, I strive to be the steady support and unwavering believer my students deserve.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was welcoming a student who transitioned into my classroom due to behavior challenges. With patience, love, and consistent structure, I watched him slowly begin to trust, engage, and believe in himself. Overtime, the behaviors lessened and his confidence grew. Seeing him flourish reminded me that every child thrives when they feel safe, understood, and supported.

What would you do with the $25,000?

$25,000 would truly be life changing. After an unexpected incident in my apartment, I’ve spent over a month house-hopping between friends and family, yet I’ve continued showing up fully for my students. This opportunity would give me a safe, stable home of my own, a foundation to build my future, start a family, and keep pouring my heart into others.
