I have been a carpenter all my adult life, specializing in curved free-standing staircases, custom cabinets/furniture, radius molding, but I wanted to do something more meaningful for my community. I love studying history and now I teach AP European History at my old high school while still working with wood on the side.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThis school year I tried something new, student-made skits about the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution, and was nervous about how it would go. It was the most fun experience I ever had as an educator and the students said it was their favorite way to learn so I am making a new skit assignment now.
What would you do with the $25,000?The money would help fund my two daughters’ college endeavors.
