I love teaching because I feel like it’s the one profession where the more you care & invest, the more it matters to the students you serve.

I became a teacher because my Mom & grandmother were educators and I saw the positive difference they had with their students and community. I just always wanted to be able to be like them and make a difference with students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was during the COVID pandemic. I was able to stay connected with a student through that time period & assist them. After that student graduated high school, they came back and told me about how much that time serving them (during COVID) meant to them & they’ve since gone on to attend college and start a family. I just felt so grateful to have helped them through that time.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to give my students a traveling/educational field trip that they’ve never had the chance to do. I’ve wanted to take them to a national park, such as the Grand Canyon, and just give them a memorable experience that they could always remember. I would just want to invest that money with my students in some positive way.
