Learn MoreI became a teacher because a teacher of mine inspired me to want to help kids reach their full potential in whatever it is they’re passionate about. I was one of those “problem” students growing up, but a special History teacher showed me how to harness my overabundance of energy in a positive way. I became a tech ed teacher because I got tired of testing kids and I believe they need a place to learn in a hands-on and didactic way.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMost recent would have to be having TWELVE students absolutely clap me in the welding simulator. One girl even got a 100% score.
What would you do with the $25,000?First, I’d host an aoe2 weekend event and ask my friends Dave and Daniela to run it as a celebration for winning. Then, I’d use the money to not have to work 3 jobs for a little while and instead enjoy being JUST a public school teacher/ esports fan, maybe upgrade some of my failing equipment and tools at home- most of my best stuff is in my classroom for student use. And a new 3D printer because my students and I ran mine so hard it’s down, and something nice for my coworkers at school :)
