Martinique Bishop Juvinao

I became a teacher to help others grow especially children, but adults too. My oldest son was born with autism and now is a strong, talented, independent young adult who has changed my life for the better. I wanted to sing opera, but when he was born I thought in education I could help him thrive and he helped me instead, now in two languages, two cultures and with two worlds. Because of him I have been able to help over 80 other autistic students that have come thru my classroom and thrive.

My 2nd grade class after the pandemic, 2022 we published a book about science in Spanish and English. It was rough because they struggled to write being online in 1st grade, but we did it. It wasn’t even about the book it was the process we worked so hard on through out the year to get it just right. Students were so proud.

I would like to donate a portion to my school library and have bilingual choices for science, social studies , math and a variety of other books for students to enjoy and discover. Another portion I would like to get supplies for my classroom , science kits and math kits to help students who learn in different ways be successful and challenged to grow.
