Tell us why you became a teacher

I chose to become a teacher because I am passionate about investing in students’ futures. There is nothing more fulfilling than watching a student grasp a difficult concept, build confidence, and achieve something they once believed was impossible. I am driven by their growth and committed to creating a classroom where every child feels valued, capable, and empowered to succeed.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was watching two students I taught in PreK return to walk the halls as graduating seniors. Seeing them grown, confident, and ready to take on the world was incredibly special. When they stopped to hug me and said, “Thank you for being our beginning,” it reminded me why I teach. Knowing I was part of the start of their journey is a moment I will never forget.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would pour it directly back into my students. I would fill our classroom with diverse, inspiring books, provide updated technology to expand their learning, and introduce 3D printers to spark creativity and innovation. Most importantly, I would fund field trips for every child, ensuring each student experiences opportunities that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories beyond our classroom walls.
