Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because in college I got into some very basic education classes and I loved them. I loved going into classrooms and not just sitting in a classroom. I loved the students and the students loved me. It was then that I realized I’m not a sit behind the computer and work kind of girl. I wanted to be up and busy every day of my life. I know I picked the right profession for me because I love getting up and going to work. The love and laughter we share in my class is my pure joy!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable experience I have was the year that I won teacher of the year in my local school. I just felt like a champion. I go to school every day to make kids feel like a champion, but that was my moment. That was the time I was the champion.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Pay off the student loans I had to take out for my two college kids.
