Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because i want to be the adult to children that i needed growing up. Be their voice and their advocate. not only teach but be someone in their life they can remember they have that will always care about them and show up in a heartbeat. their number one fan not only for them but their families and our community. as much as i wish to save the world im starting in my classroom. teaching is heart work. i’m a headstart preschool teacher teaching in the prek class i was in. 🤍

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

i feel like everyday is memorable, i can always go home and tell a story and go back to them when i randomly think about them. when im having a hard day but remember achievements, giggles, large groups, choice times, eye lid up, all the memories all go it. they are all memorable themselves as children. their personalities their hearts their hugs. truly i could not pick just one as im proud of my work and myself as a teacher.

What would you do with the $25,000?

i have a few ideas, i can help my family with bills and debts like school debt, hospital debts as my parents get older i just want their health to be a priority they have worked since they were children. I can also help my preschool get our own building as we share a building with a daycare and it’s been very tough, we love them just not enough space and recourses esp in our small town. and help others truly that’s the best to do this world breaks my heart with the bad news i just wana do good
