Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education transforms lives. As a bilingual educator, I’ve seen how language can be a bridge, not a barrier. I wanted to create a classroom where students feel seen, heard, and valued in any language —donde cada niño tiene voz. Teaching allows me to nurture curiosity, confidence, and cultura every single day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences happens every year—seeing students grow no matter where they start. When children begin to believe in themselves, take risks, and realize they can succeed, it’s incredibly powerful. Watching that confidence build reminds me why I became a teacher and encourages me to keep going in this career.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would invest it in creating a sustainable learning environment that benefits students for years to come. I would purchase durable classroom materials, multi-literacy resources, flexible furniture that support collaboration and hands-on learning. My goal would be to build a space where generations of students can explore, grow, and develop confidence in their abilities.
