I became a teacher because of fosters kids my mother helped raise. These kids often hated school. My mom spent time reading to them and I helped them with their homework. II am a first generation American and education opened my door to a world my parents didn’t have.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceTaking a student to a mental health clinic after he had a rough day and sometime later giving me a card telling me I was his favorite teacher. He made me a card and the picture he drew was of us saving a birds life that same day.
What would you do with the $25,000?Help that same boy go to summer camp . He is currently homeless and give his mom the down payment for the first months rent on an apartment.
