I enjoy inspiring students to think instead of memorize. I also enjoy showing and encouraging them to be who they genuinely are.

Learn MoreI knew I wouldn't fit in at a cubicle. I enjoy being curious about my world and understanding how things work that and my extroverted personality made teaching a natural fit.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI enjoy trying new things and creating opportunities for students to learn through curiosity. There have been a few times were its worked pretty well. Most recently by changing my physics curriculum to consistent materials based on experiences and asking questions. The most memorable times are when you can really connect with a student on a human level and get them to help themselves become a greater version of themself.
What would you do with the $25,000?It's hard to say without being in the situation. I have an ambition to get into philanthropy so at least $10,000 into that. I have also thought it would be interesting to start a scholarship based on anonymous applications and needs. That would be a good start. All that after spending a little of it on the Hawaii trip as I would have won that also, or buying my wife and kids something. Maybe a portable ice house.
