I became a school-based occupational therapist because I am deeply inspired by the growth that happens during the adolescent years. What fuels my heart are the small but powerful moments — a new way of expressing a need, increased independence, or a spark of connection. I believe every child deserves to feel understood, included, and capable, and being part of that journey is a blessing that fills my heart daily.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEveryday is memorable for me. I am truly grateful for the privilege of helping so many children grow, learn, and reach milestones in their own unique ways. Every step forward is meaningful. Being trusted to support their development and celebrate their victories, big or small, is something I cherish deeply.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to bring my vision to life through a program that extends learning beyond the school day, offering opportunities to build life skills, confidence, and connection in a safe, creative, and fun environment. My goal is to create a welcoming community where children and families feel supported and inspired to grow, helping functional skill development flourish across environments outside of just the academic setting.
