I wanted to make a daily influence as I helped children. Teaching them new things and seeing the intrigue or the light bulb go off. To provide a safe place for children where they might not have otherwise. To be a support for children, academically and not.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe most memorable moment was going to a football game and seeing a previous student. They ran up, hugged me, and cried. They said I was the reason they came to school each day. I hold that close and think back to it when I need a reminder as to why I do this.
What would you do with the $25,000?Pay off debts and then get put into giving back to our local teachers and students. I have put together a page to help teachers clear their list and help provide supplies for students. The $25,000 would help me support and build this program.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America's Favorite Teacher, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
