Madison

My students are why I do what I do. They changed my perspective, my communication skills and overall made me a better person.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always been passionate about helping children grow, learn, and feel confident in who they are. From a young age, I found joy in working with kids, whether it was babysitting, helping younger students, or simply being a supportive role model. Over time, I realized that teaching would allow me to turn that passion into a meaningful career where I could make a lasting impact on children’s lives.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was watching my students create their own version of hockey during free play. What started as simple exploration quickly turned into something much more meaningful. The children grabbed broomsticks and ball pit balls and, without any direct instruction, began to develop their own version of the game.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were given $25,000, I would invest it into furthering my career focused on supporting children’s social and emotional development. I am deeply passionate about helping children build the skills they need to understand their emotions, form healthy relationships, and navigate challenges with confidence.
