My grandmother was a teacher and I remember seeing how happy she was because she knew she was making a difference. I wanted to empower and challenge the minds of future America. I also wanted to be a positive role model for kids, teaching them self love and kindness. As well as helping them develop critical thinking skills and the confidence to ask questions.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn 2022 my science class fostered a baby diamondback terrapin with the national aquarium. We were able to observe, care and track his growth through the school year. At the end of this program my students released Leo back into his natural habitat. The relationship students created with our Leo was the most rewarding thing to watch. They were able learn about scientific applications and personal responsibility all while watching and caring for this turtle.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would put some money into both of my kids college funds. Next, I would donate some to help expand my schools garden with my Green Team.
