I was an engineer, but found myself helping kids all the time. I adore bringing real world experiences to my students in the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable experience has been when I have students tell me that they used to hate science and/or thought they weren’t any good at it before taking my class. Not everyone will go on to be a scientist, but removing the fear of science has been so rewarding. I even had one student considering physics as a college major after taking Honors Physics with me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would travel. Experience more of the world so that I can incorporate those experiences into my lessons. I would also purchase some more advanced physics equipment to help remove “human error” from more of my experiments.
