I became a teacher because I believe every child carries a dream inside them, waiting for someone to help it grow. I wanted to be the person who encourages, challenges, and believes in students even before they believe in themselves. Watching them discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve goals they once thought were impossible is why I chose this path. Their success is my greatest reward.

One of my most memorable moments this year was when J.J. Pearce High School partnered with me to bring Homecoming to my kindergarten classroom for the Class of 2038. Watching my little learners experience school spirit, celebration, and community at such a young age was incredibly special. It reminded me that big dreams start small — and that even kindergarteners can feel the excitement of belonging to something bigger than themselves.

With $25,000, I would pay off my remaining debt to create greater financial stability for my family and reduce daily stress. I would also apply to begin my Master’s in Educational Leadership, taking the next step toward growing as a leader in education. Investing in my degree would allow me to expand my impact beyond my classroom and serve students, teachers, and families on an even greater level.
