I love teaching because of the connections I build with students and watching them grow into confident, capable individuals over time.

I became a science teacher because I wanted to help students build a strong academic foundation. During my own education I realized how important great science teachers are in shaping confidence and understanding. That inspired me to become the kind of teacher who makes science engaging, approachable, and meaningful so students feel capable of pursuing any path they choose.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable experiences is watching my students walk across the stage at graduation. Seeing their growth from middle school into young adults ready for the world is incredibly rewarding. Knowing I played a role in their journey means everything to me. Even more special is when former students recognize me years later and tell me they still remember my class.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would invest in my classroom by purchasing science materials, lab equipment, and resources that allow students to experience hands-on learning. I would also use the opportunity to create stability in my personal life so I can continue focusing on what I love most, supporting my students and helping them succeed.
