Young minds always fascinated me. Little sponges that take everything in and want more with the right kind of learning. Every child learns but not necessarily the same way at the same pace. I’ve learned to do all I can for children for the short time I have them by teaching various ways of learning.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI taught at a country school 22 miles from the main school. It was a one room school where I taught grades K-5. I had 11 students all from the country up to 40 miles away. So many fond memories from science experiments to sledding down the hills behind the school and building igloos. Watching while the older students helped the younger ones with lessons and having the freedom to challenge each child with their individual learning capabilities. We even had our own Christmas program!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would purchase STEM kits to expand learning at the second grade level. I would also update my tired library of well loved books that I personally own. I would provide various tools of movement for students with learning deficits due to focus and movement challenges.
