Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help kids to learn, especially those who don’t speak English. My children had monolingual teachers and it was hard for them. That’s why I decided to become a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

This year I have a girl who came to me at the beginning of the school year without knowing any English. She just came to the country. Since then she is now reading almost on grade level and learning so much. Her mom is extremely happy of how much her daughter has grown in my classroom. I would never forget that!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will buy things for my classroom, but also, I would take some of the money to take my boys of a trip. Besides, I would buy a car for my oldest son so he can drive to school with with his brother.
