Tell us why you became a teacher

I was a Behavior crisis assistant before I was a teacher and it shocked me how some teachers would get so sick of a child with behaviors and want them out of their class. I decided I wanted to be a teacher for those kiddos who needed someone on their side and after 3 years I still feel that way and ask for those kiddos who have behaviors issue. Yes Its hard but its worth it when you see a change in that kiddo and they go on to succeed in their school years.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable Pre-K teaching moment was during our Pet Unit when I brought my two rabbits, Elsa and Anna, to visit our class. The children became gentle, caring, and excited to be learning about them. Even students who struggled with focus showed patience and responsibility. Through caring for Elsa and Anna on their visit the class learned empathy, kindness, and how to care for living things. It was a joy seeing them with the rabbits bc some of then never seen a real one in person.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 I would redecorate my classroom, get better center toys and activities for my kiddos, get extra clothes for those kiddos that need them or have an accident and has none to change in too. I would also finish paying for my National boards certification.
