I became a teacher because I want to make a positive impact in students’ lives and help them see education as a path to opportunity.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was seeing how much my students valued our classroom community. After I left my previous school, several students and parents asked if I would come back. Knowing that I made that kind of impact is incredibly meaningful to me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded the $25,000, I would invest it directly into my classroom by providing engaging educational resources and tools that support diverse learning needs and create a motivating environment for my students. Teaching is personal to me. My mother was a teacher in Cuba and inspired my path. She is now battling cancer and supporting her strengthens my purpose and reminds me of the importance of resilience, family, and education.
