I love teaching because it allows me to impact lives far beyond the walls of my classroom. Every day, I get the opportunity to help students

I did not become a teacher simply to deliver lessons or cover curriculum. I became a teacher because I believe education has the power to change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Teaching allows me to guide students as they discover who they are, what they are capable of, and how they can make a meaningful impact on the world around them. At its core, teaching is about relationships. Every student who walks into a classroom carries their own experiences, challenges, talents, and dreams.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceTwelve years ago a student who slept in my class arrived early and asked, “Do you really believe I can be someone?” He told me his father was in prison for murder and his mother for drugs, leaving him responsible for four younger siblings. From that day we focused on life skills, a resume, and a path into HVAC. Today he owns his own HVAC company and helped all four siblings attend college. Moments like that remind me the power of simply believing in a student.
What would you do with the $25,000?Pay off debt and help put money away for my 3 kids to attend college.
