Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Many students need someone who believes in them and encourages them to keep trying, even when learning feels difficult. Teaching allows me to inspire confidence, support growth, and help students discover their strengths. Seeing a student realize their potential and take pride in their progress is what makes this work so rewarding.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled academically finally gain confidence and succeed. After weeks of support, encouragement, and practice, the moment everything “clicked” for them was unforgettable. Their excitement and pride reminded me that teaching is not just about lessons, but about helping students believe in themselves and realize their potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would invest in resources that support my students’ learning and well-being, including books, classroom technology, and hands-on materials. I would also expand our classroom student store to encourage positive behavior and motivation. In addition, I would take my students on a memorable educational field trip so they can experience learning beyond the classroom and create lasting memories.
