Tell us why you became a teacher

In high school I helped out in a special education life skills class. It was the best part of my day. The teacher was the most patient and kind person and from then I knew I wanted to teach.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was during the pandemic. Having to pivot to virtual teaching was a learning experience for us all. I had to navigate new technology while keeping kindergartners engaged. Watching them continue to grow and learn during such a challenging time was remarkable. Even over the computer l made connections with students I never met in person.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to upgrade my kitchen. Besides teaching, I love to bake and cook. Our kitchen is the center of our family and is due for an update. Cooking together builds memories.
