Tell us why you became a teacher

I am a fifth generational teacher. I remember being in kindergarten “teaching” in my mom’s classroom every day. I always knew that’s what I wanted to do.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Our school took part in a march “mentor” madness where the teachers had a different challenge every day. For example, collecting tickets from scholars when you asked them, “who is your trusted adult?” Or scholars wearing a color based on the teacher. It was so amazing seeing how many connections I’ve made with students over the years.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’ve been married for almost four years. I’d love to be able to buy our first home and start our family. We are ready to put down roots in the Charlotte area.
